About the Speaker

Winnie Hsu

Winnie Hsu, CEO

Taihu Brewing

Widely recognized as one of the top brewmasters in Asia, Winnie Hsu joined Taihu as head brewer in 2015. She was initially responsible for all brewing operations, including product development, research and development, production-scale brewing, and all three of Taihu's breweries' design and commissioning.

Due to both her relentless focus on execution and her ability to develop high performing teams, Winnie has since assumed the role of Taihu's CEO. As such, she has been primarily responsible for Taihu's growth from chaotic startup to the second largest Taiwanese brewery.

Winnie began her career in the U.S., going through Gordon Biersch's (GB) brewer training program in preparation to become the first head of brewing operations for GB in Taiwan. Winnie is a certified brewmaster from Germany's illustrious VLB Brewing Institute. A little-known fact, her university major was entomology (yep, Winnie studied bugs).
