Maryland small brewer Waverly Brewing Company recently released a beer made in collaboration with local oyster companies and U.S. Senator and small brewery advocate Ben Cardin was there to celebrate. Aptly named, The Local Oyster Stout was brewed in collaboration with fellow small businesses True Chesapeake Oyster Company and The Local Oyster.
Senator Cardin toasted to local companies working together and to the positive impact small breweries have on the local economy. “Small breweries and oysters have been staples of our regional economy for generations, and emerging craft brewers like Waverly Brewing and oyster farmers like True Chesapeake underscore the spirit of innovation that makes Maryland such a great place to establish and grow a small business. These businesses are not only bringing new high-quality, locally sourced products to market, they are building new jobs and reinvesting their profits back into the state.”
