The recently passed federal highway funding measure includes over $21 million for the Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS) program for development of in-car alcohol detection sensors/ignition interlocks and about $3 million for 24/7 Sobriety Programs, an alternative to in-car measures that includes daily testing of those convicted of impaired driving.
