Agricultural Zoning Clarified in Washington

He joined the BA at its inception in 2005, having previously worked as Programs Director for the Brewers Association of America. Before coming to the small brewing industry in 2001, Pete worked for 14 years with both state and federal elected officials in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.

S.B. 578 provides that for a limited brewery license, “land zoned agricultural” means land zoned as an agricultural district or classification, but does not include any other zoning classification or designation that permits agricultural uses. Under current law, such license may be granted only if the land is zoned agricultural.
