The Brewers Association Export Development Program is participating in the 2010 Australian International Beer Awards, the AIBA, www.beerawards.com.

This year, 36 Brewers Association Export Development Program members are sending 151 beer entries into this competition.  Judging will take place in April 2010 and the BA EDP will recognize the winners at an awards ceremony at the 2011 Craft Brewers Conference in San Francisco.

The Brewers Association fills out the entry forms for all the EDP member breweries for this competition, pays for up to 3 brands per brewery entered into the competition and pays to ship the beers to Australia as an Export Development Program member benefit.

Held in Melbourne each year, the AIBA is Australia’s most prestigious beer event and has become firmly established on the international brewing calendar as a renowned and recognized barometer of diversity in beer brewing across the world. In 2009, the Australian International Beer Awards attracted 1,140 entries from 39 countries. The AIBA remains the largest showcase for premium beer and brewing excellence in the Asia Pacific Region. At the 2009 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA), the US craft beer industry performed exceedingly well, winning a total of 114 awards in 27 different categories with over 25 US craft breweries that entered the competition, enabling the US industry to have far greater representation than ever before. The AIBA is the pre-eminent showcase for premium beer and brewing excellence in the Asia Pacific Region.
