In this session we discuss varying hazards that are associated with dry hopping, the benefits and considerations of different dry hopping techniques, and how to avoid one of the most common dry hopping blunders, the hop volcano.

About the Speaker
Matt Stinchfield, Author
Matt Stinchfield (he/him) is a career occupational safety and health expert, and author of Brewery Safety: Principles, Processes, and People (Brewers Publications, 2023). For seven years he was the Brewers Association (BA) Safety Ambassador and is in his 11th year as a member of the BA Safety Subcommittee. Matt is a frequent speaker at conferences, state guilds, and webinars. He is lead instructor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-funded Hazard Reduction Practices for Cleaning Draught Beer Lines course. Matt offers safety coaching to beverage manufacturers and their insurers. He designed and operated an award-winning 15-barrel packaging brewpub. In his spare time, Matt enjoys foraging mushrooms and wrangling trout.
