Pay-to-Play Trade Practice Investigation Launched

The state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) has launched an investigation into alleged anti-competitive actions on the part of certain brewers, retailers and wholesalers that violate state law. So-called “pay-to-play” practices involve compensation for, or asking compensation for, access to taps or shelf space. The ABCC has issued several subpoenas for records in the on-going investigation.
